The College of Education will honor 12 outstanding alumni who have made significant contributions in the field of education. Awards will be presented in the categories of outstanding leaders, scholars, professionals, teachers and service to the college.

College of Education benefactors are invited to the special event that celebrates their generosity and showcases the impact of gifts that support student scholarships, graduate assistantships, research projects and other programs and initiatives in the college.

Expanding Global Impact
The impact of Great Expectations, The Campaign for Maryland will be felt around the world. Growing support for new centers and programs is enabling Maryland faculty and students to share their expertise and experience to influence change at home and abroad. Gifts large and small are sustaining the campaign’s momentum and ensuring that undergraduate and graduate students have the resources they need and opportunities to expand their education beyond the classroom. In October the campaign total reached $664,006,420 and continues to climb with ongoing support from alumni and friends.

NFL Star Funds Off-field Passion
 
Former Terp football star Madieu Williams ‘03 took to heart his mother’s example of working hard and giving back to the community, whether that community was their native Sierra Leone or Prince George’s County, where they emigrated when he was 9. Now 28, the successful NFL player recently funded the creation of a center at Maryland to address health issues in both places. Read more >>
