Matt and Beverly Brown Radiate University Pride

Matthew D. Brown (B.S. '94) and his wife Beverly are proud new owners of the "Beacon of Light" turtle sculpture, a fitting choice for a couple who radiate Maryland pride. Matt and Beverly were married in February 2006 in Memorial Chapel. Members of their wedding party wore red, black and gold attire, were driven in a "Fear the Turtle" bus and danced with Testudo, who attended their reception.

The Browns are members of the Colonnade Society and the Terrapin Club and give generously of their time, leadership skills and financial support. Beverly serves on the Colonnade Society Council and Matt is working with his employers at Geo-Technology Associates in Southern Maryland to set up a matching gift program for the University of Maryland. Their generosity to the University includes contributions to athletics, the Memorial Chapel, and the Perry Laudenslager Engineering Scholarship, established in memory of their friend and fellow Maryland alum after his 2005 death in a tragic car accident.
