The Sungs Reconnect and Reach Out for Their Alma Mater

Dr. Patrick T. Sung (M.S. '69, Ph.D. '72) and Marguerite Tien-Yu Sung (B.S. '70) met at the University and were married soon after Marguerite received her degree. Having set a record of extraordinary success among network marketing's entrepreneurial elite for their work marketing and distributing Nu Skin Enterprises, Pat and Marguerite are now enthusiastically reconnecting to their alma mater.

The Sungs have generously pledged $2 million to establish two Chemical Engineering professorships within the A. James Clark School of Engineering and a graduate research fellowship in Mathematics within the College of Computer, Mathematical and Physical Sciences. The Sung gift will not only enhance faculty recruitment but also engage students of the highest caliber.

Pat and Marguerite have the energy and vision to succeed in another role they have willingly accepted. As ambassadors for the University, the couple will encourage other alums, especially those within the Asian community, to become more involved with their alma mater.
