Gene West, Jr.: Continuing Family Tradition of Giving

ene West, Jr., and his brother David West built on their parents' gift by adding $55,000 to the Gene and Olga West Family Scholarship Fund, bringing the total endowed scholarship to $100,000.

The award is for an undergraduate business school student with an interest in logistics and transportation in the Robert H. Smith School of Business. It was originally established in December 1991 by Gene West in recognition and honor of his wife. The 2007 West Family Scholarship recipient is Gregory Douglas Forbes (pictured right).
